Forget the rumours about Steven Moffatt’s plans for Doctor Who’s fiftieth anniversary – we’ll find out more about that later in the year. The biggest, most exciting, most fan pleasing moment of 2013 so far is the release of the trailer for Big Finish’s multi Doctor story The Light at the End.

With sound bites from the first eight Doctors, including fleeting lines spoken by the First, Second and Third Doctor as they all head towards Hampshire on November 23rd 1963 at three minutes past five, a wonderful piece of backing music reminiscent of The Five Doctors and even an audio glimpse of the Master played with his usual silky psychotic tones by Geoffrey Beevers, this is going to be something rather special indeed.

There’s even the return of Charlotte Pollard, the Eighth Doctor’s long time travelling companion from 2001 until 2007 played by India Fisher who not only travelled with the Sixth Doctor in her personal future but seems to, if this trailer is accurate, meets the Fourth Doctor and Leela – Charley’s getting around more Doctors than Sarah Jane Smith!

With an insanely long nine month wait until the release of The Light at the End, this trailer will serve as a small yet scrumptious taster to tide you over until November 2013.
